What is NEPAD?
Founded in 2001, NEPAD is the New Partnership for African Development, an intergovernmental organization based in Burkina Faso under the umbrella of the African Union, and headed by H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, former prime minister of Niger.

Together with the OECD, NEPAD has developed the Africa Investment Initiative. This program serves to strengthen the capacity of African countries to manage critical investment programs in  infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and other sectors. The NEPAD OECD initiative also aims to raise the profile of Africa as a desirable and profitable investment destination, in particular by examining taxation and investment climate issues.
